2023 NSW STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

WOOPI BRINGS HOME THE MEDALS

The seven kids from Woopi that competed at NSW SLS Championships had great results, coming home with medals and some 4th and 7th places and top 20 places in almost all events. Woolgoolga came 30th out of 70 clubs which is a fantastic result. The kids made semis and finals for everything!! Amazing!! Medals were:

  • Olivia Kelly: 2nd in U12 female Beach Flag, Silver medal and 4th in U 12 Female Beach sprint;
  • Bayley Johnson and Lily-Mei Wong: 3rd in 2 x 1km Beach relay (Bronze Medal);
  • Riley Burgess & Xavier Poole: 4th in 2 x 1km Beach Relay and 11th in U14 Male Board Rescue;
  • Cara Crockford, Lara Hannaford, Lily-Mei Wong & Bayley Johnson: 14th in Female senior Cameron Relay;
  • Cara Crockford & Bayley Johnson: 10th in U14 Female Board Rescue;
  • Lara Hannaford: 7th in U14 Female Beach Sprint & 13th in U 14 Female Beach Flags;
  • Cara Crockford: 12th in U 14 Female Swim; 17th in U14 Female Beach Flags
  • Riley Burgess: 12th in U14 Male Beach Flags
  • Xavier Poole: 7th in U14 Male beach flags, 11th in U14 Male Board, 18th U14 Male Ironperson;
  • Bayley Johnson: 11th U13 Female swim, 15th U13 female board, 18th U13 female Ironperson;
  • Lily-Mei Wong – 25th in U13 Female swim

Congratulations to the Open and Master’s teams from Woolgoolga SLSC who also put in a great performance:

  • Karen Dallas & Lyndi Schofield won Bronze Medals in 50-54 Women’s Double Ski;
  • 200 Masters Men Surf boat won Bronze;
  • 260 Masters Men Surf boat won Gold;
  • Reserve Men & Women reached the Quarter-Finals;
  • Open Women’s & 19 Women’s competed well but didn’t go past the heats.
