First Interbranch Training and Information Session: Sun 17 Aug

Posted by: Garry Howe

What a great start to our Interbranch season! On Sunday, 17 August we held our very first training and information session, with 35 athletes hitting the beach.

The conditions gave us a solid challenge. We had a bit of swell rolling through and a cool breeze in the air although this did nothing to deter our athletes. The participants put in a huge effort, worked hard, and set a positive tone for the upcoming interbranch carnival ahead.

These sessions aren’t just about training in the surf, we are about building connections, learning, and creating a strong team culture. It was awesome to see athletes, coaches, selectors and parents all coming together and get involved.

A massive thank you to everyone who turned up and supported the day, especially our IRB team and water safety volunteers.  The energy and enthusiasm was unreal, and it’s only the beginning. Bring on the next session – we’re just getting started!
