CARNIVAL WRAP-UP FOR THE SEASON
Great start to Newcastle Permanent branch carnivals this season with Woolgoolga as the host of the junior age carnival. Since is was the first time for some competitors to attend a carnival, everyone appeared to have a fun time. Always great to on this beach and well looked after by the Woopi crew.
Unusual huge swells took us to Jetty beach for the next carnival. All Clubs were there & ready to proceed but with regular updates along with advice saw the carnival cancelled. This was due to tsunami fall-out warnings all the way down the east-coast of Australia.
Thanks so much to Sawtell who hosted the branch champs at Jetty beach. High tide had the water events done before enough sand was opened up for the beach events to take place. Shout out to the branch Newcastle Permanent Junior Life Savers for season 2021-22, Jack Barry and Larnie Mordue. Congratulations and thank you to all the u14s that participated as well.
Overall, it has been fabulous to watch all age groups up to the masters interact and strengthen the friendships with all our Clubs. Thanks to Garry Howe and his crew for all the back end they do for even to allow us to have these carnivals.
