Surf Life Saving NSW would like to congratulate the participants chosen to attend this year’s Junior Lifesaver of the Year program and the Youth Opportunity Makers Workshop.

The two Junior Lifesaver of the Year winners from each branch will attend the state camp next month. The award is a way for clubs and branches to recognise their Under 14 members’ achievements and contributions within Surf Life Saving and their community.

At the end of the camp, two lifesavers will be awarded the 2021 NSW Junior Lifesaver of the Year titles.

The Youth Opportunity Makers Workshop is held alongside the Junior Lifesaver of the Year Program and aims to create greater awareness of opportunities and individual abilities in 15 to 17-year-old members. Participants will take part in focused learning, presentations and workshops as well as fun activities and challenges.

Congratulations to these up-and-coming stars for the North Coast Branch:

Junior Lifesaver of the Year: Ava Wilson (Woolgoolga SLSC) and Oliver Rodgers (Urunga SLSC)

Youth Opportunity Makers Workshop Participants: Rhys Irvine and Henry Derrick (Minnie Water Wooli SLSC), Damon Streigher (Woolgoolga SLSC), Kayne Wells and Shardaye Bowers (Bellinger Valley North Beach SLSC).
